Reviews
We were so disappointed with the food served at this hotel. Not only were the portion size inconsistent for the same meal the desserts were less than basic. Do not waste your time and money dinning is the vasty plastic flowered room. If the waiter wasn't so accommodating we would have walked out without paying.
Food is excellent, worth every penny. The location is great. However, it has a quite tired appearance. The restaurant has a sea front view. However, the windows were in need of a proper cleanup. Same for the mirrors inside. Good effort on the staff. However, they would deserve proper uniforms to reflect working in a 4-star place. The garden is fabulous despite some of the gardening and maintenance tools being hidden (thrown) around the place in plain sight.
This establishment was a delight, from the moment we arrived to the day we left. The food was outstanding, room was great with the king sized bed, clean bathroom and fabulous views to the quay and St Michael's Mount. The Manager and his wife and all staff were curtious. Coming from Australia for unfortunately a funeral of my mother inlaw, it was a beautiful way of winding down after a very stressful time. Thankyou to all of the staff. Kind regards Michael Fox
From the second we arrived till the moment we left the service was second to none. The hotel itself was absolutely decorated, equipped and cleaned exceptionally well. Dinner surpassed all expectations and the actual dining room was stunning. As we went out of season I expected to find some flaws but it was faultless. Looking forward to to returning.
Rooms a bit small Lovely views of the harbour and the moment Food excellent. Go for the seafood platter. Reception sometimes not staffed
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helped to celebrate a special occasion. Everybody was so kind, especially the bar staff, waiter staff and the lovely younger blonde girl on reception.
The room requests seemed to be ignored which is a shame. It is nice that they seem to all have a TV. A couple of rooms’ decor seem a bit outdated.
Very frustrating that not all of the rooms have a shower/ways to shower that don’t involve covering the entire bathroom in water.
Unfortunately the food was quite poor. There was little to no vegetarian/vegan options and the ones that were there were not good. Out of a lot of the guests, I believe that only one person enjoyed their food. The meat was dry, and I don’t understand the point in asking how you would like your meat cooked if it’s just going to be ignored. Luckily our stay was relatively short, as if not we would have gone elsewhere for food.
The hotel is very lucky that the majority of their staff were very kind as, if not, this review would be very different.
I probably would not recommend this hotel to any family or friends.
Cute hotel with welcoming service. We checked-in almost at midnight, which was not a problem. Breakfast was delicious and common areas were gorgeous. It was our second time in this hotel and we will return again.
The hotel is in a great location with some lovely features, however unfortunately the cosy double rooms weren’t one of them. Room 3 was hot and airless with a noisy boiler outside that made sleeping impossible. They did admit it “wasn’t one of their better rooms” but made no effort to improve the experience. Very disappointing.
